Your transcript and degree audit in Populi – Populi Knowledge Base

4 minutes

You'll find your Transcript and Degree Audit on the Student tab in your Profile. Just click the appropriate tab to see either item.

The transcript is the college's official record of your completed and in-progress courses. It is organized around the your Programs of study.

By default, it shows a combined transcript for All of your Programs. Use the Program drop-down to filter the transcript down to show Courses for individual Programs or Courses that aren't mapped to any Programs (None).

What you're looking at

Each Program's transcript leads off with a summary of your Degree(s) in that Program.

Next, it summarizes your accepted Transfer credits or hours.

Resident Units are broken out by Academic Term; each Term includes notes for Discipline and Honors (if any) as well as Term and Cumulative GPA.

Each Program concludes with a Summary: Resident, Transfer, and Overall Units and Cumulative GPA.

Click Export Transcript to create a printable copy of your transcript (if you have grad and undergrad courses, it will create a PDF of the transcript you're viewing at the time). Check if you want to include an appendix with the Course Descriptions. Click Export to create the document.

The Degree Audit shows your progress towards your degree(s)—as well as majors or minors (if any). It's based on how the registrar has set up degree requirements—which may be credits, courses from particular course groups, minimum GPA, and so on.

It also enables What-if? scenarios that show you, your advisor, and the registrar how your courses and credits would apply to other available degrees.

It's a tool designed to help someone make a decision. You might review it and decide to switch degrees. Your advisor might decide to recommend one class over another. The registrar might decide to grant you a degree. You get the idea.

"What-ifs?":

By default, you see the requirements for the degree, specialization (major/minor), and catalog year you're pursuing. If you're pursuing multiple degrees, it shows your most advanced degree—if you're pursuing both a Master's Degree and a Master of Studies, the audit would default to the Master's Degree.

When you change a selection, the requirements displaying on the main screen automatically refresh. So, to run a "what-if?" scenario, simply change one of the selections and see what comes up.

Brief Explanations:

General Requirements compares the degree's Minimum GPA, Credit, and Resident Credit requirements with your Cumulative GPA and Credits, and lets you know whether or not you've satisfied the requirements.

The Course Requirements section, obviously, lists off your complete and incomplete courses. Complete refers to courses you've taken in the past that are already closed—and which you passed. Incomplete refers to required courses that remain for you to take, or that you're taking now. Click complete, incomplete, or show all for different perspectives on how you're doing regarding your courses.

The Status column shows information for courses you have passed (completed), courses that are in progress (possible), and courses that have been applied to other course groups.

Exceptions

If any degree requirements have been modified or waived for you, you'll see them at the bottom of the Degree Audit, under Exceptions (just scroll down to see them). They describe the exception(s), the name of the person who added it/them, and any notes that accompany the exception(s).
